When my friend Jeff talked me into starting this blog I actually balked. I was completely computer illiterate. But I decided to give it a shot just to have an outlet for everything that is on my mind. I've only been at it for about 3 weeks but I think I've come a long way. I've picked up so much through trial and error. It's pretty amazing when every time you make a mistake you learn something new. Kind of like LIFE!!!
But I have had some valuable help from my daughter Tami. Her patience with me has been so wonderful. Tami is a self taught computer whiz! We bought our first computer for the family when she was about 12 years old. It was one of the original IBM PCs and would be a dinosaur today! Not many kids had computers at home at that time so she was on the cutting edge. She started playing with it then, and now, at the age of 30, she can do ANYTHING on a computer!
The other day I was trying to find a song I had used along with my presentation for a competition. The only thing I could tell her is that it started out with DUN DUN DUN DUNNNNN! DO DO DO DO DO! DUN DUN DUN DUNNNNN! I watched as she typed in those words and all kinds of possibilities pop up for me to check out! She makes everything look so easy! She doesn't baby me though anything. When I ask her how to do something, like copy and paste, she makes me do it myself so that I can hopefully remember it. If I don't get it the first time she doesn't "jump down my throat," she very patiently helps me to try again.
I just wanted to take time to give credit where credit is due. Thank you my dear, I love you. I'm sure I'll still need your help in the future. Thank you for being patient with me.
