TROOPS FORGOTTEN ONCE AGAIN

Mr. President,

I was of the understanding that once you took the Oath of Office you became the Commander In Chief of our Armed Forces. Doing Your job , you appointed an advisor to guide you and help you make decisions that would not only be in the best interests of America, but would also be in the best interest of our troops. Commander Mc Chrystal sent you a memo on August 30, 2009, informing you that we would be at risk of losing the war in Afghanistan if additional troops were not immediately dispatched to assist those who were already there. Today is September 24 and you still have not taken the time to respond to his request. I realize you are a busy man, what with running the country and all, but don't you feel this is something that really needs your immediate attention and should be addressed in a timely manner? I notice you've had time for all of the Sunday Talk Shows, and of course we can't forget The David Letterman show (you do love your comedic streak), and last but not least, all of those important DICTATORS WHO HATE US!

It seems everything else important to you, such as the Stimulus Bill, Cap and Trade,  and naturally your famous campaign promise for Health Care Reform needs to be rammed through YESTERDAY! So I would think that since you are the COMMANDER IN CHIEF, you would really be hard pressed to take care of our troops out in the field who are trying to MAKE YOU LOOK GOOD and keep our nation safe!

So, what's it going to be Mr. President? Are we just playing war games or are the troops out there in AFGHANISTAN going to be allowed to be victorious and return to our country with HONOR?!! Tell me, please, that this will not turn into another VIETNAM where our Vets come home to protesters and their look of pure disdain? Tell me the Vets will not suffer like my father did after serving in KOREA from depression, paranoia, and even alcoholism because they fought in a war they were not allowed to finish?

YOU CHOSE TO ESCALATE OUR PRESENCE IN AFGHANISTAN SO YOU CAN'T BLAME THIS ON THE PAST ADMINISTRATION! YOU NEED TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE! DO YOUR JOB! AND SEE TO IT THAT OUR SOLDIERS HAVE NOT FOUGHT AND DIED IN VAIN!
