So, "Madame" Pelosi handed down a "rebuke" to Congressman Joe Wilson today after Congress, in a completely partisan vote naturally decided that he should be disciplined for his outburst at the President's speech on Health Care Reform. When the President stated the illegal immigrants would, "absolutely not be covered under the plan," Wilson shouted out, "You lie!" Yes it is true that this was not proper "decorum" for a Presidential speech given on the Congressional Floor. But now let's examine the behavior of Nancy Pelosi when she gave a press conference and claimed the CIA had lied to her and lied to Congress regarding the manner in which we obtained information from detainees who were known terrorists in order to keep our country from suffering through another 9-11 attack. She never did come forward with proof for her accusations. Was she judged and rebuked for forcing the CIA to turn over pictures and transcripts that could ultimately lead to the terrorists knowing our most intimate secrets? She basically caused the US to "tip it's hand" regarding our interrogation tactics and possibly put our agents in the field at risk.
Columnists, Maureen Dowd, even went so far as to play the race card saying, "I could just 'imagine' Wilson saying, 'You lie BOY!' She could just"imagine?!!!" Is she hearing voices too?
Congressman Wilson said no matter what rebuke he was given he feels vindicated because there is now a portion of the Health Care Plan that addresses verification of citizenship.
